Mental health in the workplace

As an employer you naturally want your people to be fit for work. And that’s why sick absence and employee wellness are regularly such hot topics: days lost to illness, ‘health at work’ programmes that encourage exercise and eating well, etc. However, usually when those topics come up, it’s in relation to physical wellness (or lack of). Mental health and wellbeing is still practically a taboo subject. Mental wellness And yet, the latest research points out that 23% of people in England (and as an indicator, it’s probably a similar rate in the rest of the UK)
